Eureka Springs Arkansas B&B Newsletter

Eureka Springs, Arkansas
September, 2011

Congratulations Eureka Springs! Each year, Eureka Springs ArkansasArthur Frommer’s Budget Travel magazine celebrates the great small towns with the “Coolest Small Towns in America” competition. Readers of the magazine nominate the most interesting towns they know with populations of less than 10,000. Voters then choose among the nominees for the coolest small town. Eureka Springs is proud to have been voted #4 in the U.S. overall! Voted for having great B&B’s, Victorian architecture, the monumental 67-foot-tall hilltop Christ of the Ozarks, Branson-style shows, and hunting for ghosts in the historic downtown. Also noted for the thriving Artist Community, the current of creativity bubbles up just about everywhere, if you look hard enough. We would love for you to visit and experience this wonderful Victorian retreat for yourself.

Eureka Springs Chili Cookoff

A new group is planning a chili cookoff, along with other events, as part of an “All American Weekend” in Eureka Springs Nov. 5-7.

The “First Annual International Society Sanctioned Chili Cookoff” will include, besides cookoff contests, a cruise-in, parade, poker run, veterans’ ride, a free show at Ozark Mountain Hoedown on Saturday night, a street dance, vendors, raffles and drawings. A “People’s Choice” chili cookoff will kick off the weekend Friday afternoon, Nov. 5, with everyone invited to participate and compete.

The main event, the sanctioned International Chili Society Cookoff, will offer red chili and two salsa entries, regular and verde, by members of the International Chili Society. Judging for that event will take place on Saturday. The winners will go on to the state competition. A live D.J. spinning records and giving away prizes will be part of the festivities Friday and Saturday. Event will be located at the Victorian Inn parking lot at 4028 E Van Buren in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
