RECIPES

KEY LIME CHEESECAKE BARS

2 1/2 cups pretzel sticks, finely crushed
1 /2 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons sugar
2 - 8oz packages cream cheese, softened
2/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
1/2 teaspoon finely shredded lime peel
3 tablespoons key lime juice or regular lime juice
1/4 cup slivered almonds

Preheat oven to 350 deg. Grease bottom of 2-quart (8” square) baking dish; set aside.
For crust: in medium bowl, combine crushed pretzel, melted butter and 2 tablespoons sugar. Press mixture into bottom of prepared baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes.
For filling: in large bowl, combine cream cheese, 2/3 cup sugar and vanilla. Beat with electric mixer on medium to high until combined. Add eggs and beat again until combined. Stir in lime peel and lime juice. Pour filling over crust. Sprinkle with nuts.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until center is set. Cool in baking dish on wire rack for 30 minutes. Cover and chill for 4 to 24 hours (top will crack slightly). Cut into bars.

Gospel Music Celebration

The Great Passion Play is holding their first annual GOSPEL MUSIC CELEBRATION. This event will be on Labor Day weekend, Aug. 31, thru Sept. 2, 2007, from 4:00 to 6:00pm. Red Star Gourd Dance

Held at Blue Springs Heritage Center from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. It will be a one day Memorial Gourd Dance, with a traditional meal served at noon for all the Gourd Dancers, Staff, Singers and Drum.
