RECIPE
NEIMAN MARCUS BUTTER PECAN BARS
Butter pecan cake mix
2 sticks melted butter
2 eggs
8oz cream cheese
1 pound powdered sugar (3 ¾ cups)
1 cup chopped pecans
Mix together cake mix, 1 stick melted butter and 1 egg and press into
a 11x17 cookie sheet.
Mix remaining ingredients and pour over cake mix. Sprinkle with 1 cup
chopped pecans. Bake at 350° 25 to 30 minutes.

Ultimate Songwriters Workshop
Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008 - Saturday, January 26th, 2008
This workshop will be held at the Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down Theatre in
Eureka Springs. Workshops include 7 seminars, 3 concerts, 4 #1 songwriters,
and nightly jam sessions for all participants. Pre-registration is required.
Fees are $150 before November 10th or $200 after the 10th. Concerts
will include Dave Berg (writer of "Stupid Boy" for Keith Urban),
Jason Matthews (writer of "Must Be Doin' Something Right"
for Billy Currington), and Sam and Annie Tate (writers of "If You're
Going Through Hell" for Rodney Atkins). Barbara Cloyd (writer of
"I Guess You Had to Be There" for Lorrie Morgan) will be instructing
several seminars as well. She will be choosing 20 writers out of the
600 to pitch their material to two top Nashville publishers that will
also be attending the event.

Eureka presents a Celebration of Robert Burns. Join the 249th Robert
Burns Birthday Bash in traditional, high-energy style at the Crystal
Dining Room is transformed into a castle hall for the weekend. Enjoy
the chef's roast Baron of Beef dinner with all the trimmings, haggis
and scotch, along with traditional pipers and drummers, Burns poetry
and songs performed by Ed Miller, and oh so much more!
Eagle Watch Weekend
Friday, January 25th, 2008 - Sunday, January 27th, 2008
Avid bird watchers from around the region are expected to converge on
this little Ozarks town January 25-27 for the 15th Annual Beaver Lake
Eagle Watch Weekend. The Bald Eagle watching cruises will be aboard
the Belle of the Ozarks, which will depart at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3
p.m. on each of the three days. The cruises will depart from Rocky Branch
Marina, 12 miles East of Rogers on Hwy 12. Cruise admission is $18 for
adults and $7.50 for children under 12. Reservations are required and

BB King in Concert

It’s been a long and winding road that has led Riley B. King from
a plantation near the small town of Itta Bena, Mississippi to the Eureka
Springs City Auditorium, where he will appear in concert January 27.
Doors open at 7 p.m. on January 27 for the 8 p.m. performance. Tickets

Freakin' Eurekan 15K Trail Race
Saturday, February 9th, 2008
This will be the first year for the Freakin’ Eurekan. The course
is 99% single-track with most following the circumference of Lake Leatherwood.
The trail is well maintained, but is not without its challenges. There
are rocky ledges, creek crossings and extended grades all over varied
