I know everyone is tired of the winter as much as we are. This weekend it’s going to be in the 50′s here so hopefully all the slushy stuff will melt and make it easier for everyone to get out. The Annual Victorian Classic 10K Run, 2 Mile Run and 2 Mile Walk is this weekend and is a fund raiser sponsored by the Eureka Springs Rotary. The Victorian Classic is among the most scenic of runs in the region. Challenging hills, flat and fast ridge running stretches offer hillside views of hardwood forests and historic buildings.

Eureka Springs Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be March 15th. Dress in green and enjoy the parade as it winds through our historic village along Spring Street starting at 2:00 pm.

For you antique hunters, the Annual Antique Show and Sale is March 14-16. Fifty Five dealers from as many as 14 states are a part of the show which occupies 18,000 sq ft in the beautiful Inn of the Ozarks Convention Center. The show boasts the full range of antiques. Attendees have registered from as many as 22 states.

RECIPE

CROCK POT CANDY

3 cups nuts (peanuts, cashews, pecans)
1 12 oz package semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 Hershey milk chocolate bars (regular size)
2 20 oz pkgs white almond bark (broken apart)

Directions
Layer in large oval crockpot in the order listed, finishing with almond bark on top. Set on warm or lowest setting. Time for 3 hours. Do NOT lift lid during time. Stir well after time and spoon onto wax paper. Makes around 150 candies.
