Fall in Eureka Springs, Arkansas
October is our busiest month at our bed and breakfast in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. And it’s no wonder why – the leaves are changing, the air is cool and crisp and there’s plenty of things going on. Every weekend in October seems to be filled with so many events that it’s hard to pick a favorite. Just some of the events in October are the Corvette weekend, War Eagle Craft Fair, Minis in the Ozarks, Eagle Watch and Fall Foliage tours on Beaver lake, Haunted Hay Rides, Voices from the Silent City, the Intrigue Theater Ghosts Have Answers, the Mad Hatter’s Ball and so much more.
We love decorating for fall with the orange leaves, pumpkins, cornstalks and scarecrows. This year, we let guests judge from the jack-o-lanterns to pick their favorite.
Weekends are pretty full, but we still have some weekday vacancies and we’d love to have you stay with us at our Eureka Springs Bed and Breakfast and enjoy the scenery that only comes around once a year.
Voices From Eureka’s Silent City
Eureka Springs Arkansas is known for it’s ghosts and spirits of the past. The historic, Victorian ambiance of the town seems to attract ghosts and ghost hunters of all types. There are numerous places to witness paranormal events including ghost tours, underground tours and a stage show that reportedly can speak with the spirits.
What better place to visit with ghosts of the past than in a Cemetery? The Eureka Springs Historical Museum hosts its 3rd annual “Voices from Eureka’s Silent City” cemetery tour this year on October 14 and 15, and 28 and 29. Here’s your chance to hear from historical characters of Eureka Springs past, featuring live actors in period costumes playing early citizens of Eureka Springs reminiscing about their past. Some of the characters were pillars of the community and some were figures whose colorful, outrageous or scandalous behavior helped shape the history and the myths of the town.
Eureka Springs Arkansas, the Official Wedding Capital of the South
Eureka Springs now has the legal trademark, WEDDING CAPITAL OF THE SOUTH. The wedding and romance market is a core element in the growth and development of tourism and the economic life of Eureka Springs. The unique and delightful image of America’s Victorian Village combined with its many attractions and activities for entertainment have made our city the popular wedding destination that it has become today. The legal acquisition of the trademark, Wedding Capital of the South, will bring more visitors to Eureka Springs and enhance our growing reputation as a unique place to come for wedding and romance.
Bikes, Blues and BBQ and Bed and Breakfast
It’s time for Bikes, Blues and Bar-B-Que again. Join in the biggest biker rally in our area September 28 through October 1. Join hundreds of thousands of bikers in Northwest Arkansas for one of the top motorcycle events in the country. Billed as being bigger and better than last year with a wider variety of music, more venues, more attractions, and more of everything that you’ve come to expect.
Our Eureka Springs B&B is just a short ride away from Fayetteville and would make a terrific base for enjoying all the Rally has to offer, yet being able get away from the noise at night. Relax and enjoy a full breakfast in your room at your chosen time without having to wait and fight for a seat at a restaurant.
Of course, the best part of this rally is the fabulous roads of Northwest Arkansas. Head East from Fayetteville and you’ll encounter some of the best riding anywhere. Enjoy scenic views, twisting “blue highways”, and picturesque Ozark towns with the friendliest people you’ll ever meet.
